Progressive Community and What The Teachers Should Do in Globalization Era

As the teachers, we cannot ignore the development of technology today influencing us about how to teach and how to learn in school lives. Technology spreads information rapidly and helps teachers to construct the best method regarding their teaching. Laferrière (2006) The adoption of information and communication technologies (ICTs) is an overarching trend that is producing rapid changes in all sectors of society and creating new demands for schools.

Students have changed from passive to active recipients because they get many resources of information. Automatically, teachers could not maintain their old styles in learning by giving only speech in front of the class but now teachers should provide many chances to students in discussion to develop their critical analysis. Teachers have to be facilitators and tutors that supporting and strengthening the good ideas of students.

It also changes many things in our socio-economic fields. Teachers are not only demanded to expose their professional ability in school but also they have to be the change makers in society. They have to create creative ideas to participate actively for advancing community. Schlager and Fusco (2004) have argued that the success of the professional development activity and the outcomes of the activity is a community-wide responsibility – teachers need collaboration tools that they can own and tailor to meet their own needs and the needs of the community.

Teachers should have a side job beside their professional carrier to gain additional fund. The use of technology like social media as the instruments has given opportunities to spread information to any areas. It will help us effectively in business. We have transformed to be the global citizens which people can access and find everything as long as they need.

Many people today use business online for their side jobs. It doesn’t need to spent much time or tools and we just sit in front of our computers or smart phones. People will find us to do the transactions. If we don’t have any ideas to develop, we can try browsing many resources in the internet and it will encourage us to find the appropriate one to do business in our community.
